Hello!
I’m Jenny and glad to be aboard the OMB! I have been living in Council Bluffs for nearly five years. I relocated from Northeast Ohio (Go Buckeyes!) when circumstances allowed me to be closer to extended family. This move afforded many opportunities for growth and deepened my faith in unexpected ways.
Omaha
I am happy to be just over the river from a great city that offers so much in the way of cultural and educational activities, fun places to shop, and wonderful restaurants. My favorite place to visit is Old Market, especially at night, when the lights and carriage rides add a romantic atmosphere to a pleasant walk through the cobbled streets. Whatever your budget and interests may be, you can find places to eat and shop any night of the week.
Mom
I am a single mother of three. The Cruise Director is 16 and learning to drive this summer (Eeks!). The Affectionate One is 14 and cannot wait to follow in her brother’s footsteps and begin driving (Again, eeks!). Whirling Dervish is 12 and earned his nickname when he was quite young and rambunctious. Oh, yes, there are stories to tell, dear reader! He’s content to drive the mower (Thank Goodness!). I homeschool them which is incredibly challenging and rewarding, as you might guess. I love to read, write, crochet, bike, play tennis and board games, and sit in the sun with a big floppy hat (The curse of the fair complexioned female — ugh). Accompanying my unflattering, albeit useful, hat, you will find a book (usually Historical fiction or Chick Lit) and iced caramel coffee.
Blog
I look forward to sharing my thoughts, discoveries, and the fun upcoming events in the greater Omaha area. I hope to share my experiences with other moms who are making it all happen for their families. While parenting has its ups and downs, being a single mom bookends motherhood with a unique set of challenges, struggles, but more importantly joy. I endeavor to find the joy in the everyday things. It’s the little things that add up to a big ol’ messy pile of joy at the end of the day, if only we take the time to look for it. You can read more specifics about who I am, along with book and product reviews on my blog: www.notesofjubilee.com.
With great joy,
Jenny
Yay, Jenny!!! So excited to read more from you! ❤️
Hi, Jenny! I love that you mention finding joy in each day. Kids make that pretty easy! I can’t wait to read more posts from you!
Thank you, Tessa!
I just wanted to encourage you as you homeschool. I did all my children, a few through highschool others up until highschool. All have been responsible adults, part of community and continually growing as they become older adults.
I’m so proud to be the mother of such an accomplished, lovely, and talented Christian woman!
