15 Restaurant Options for a Traditional Thanksgiving Meal

For most people, Thanksgiving is centered around the table.  Family and friends unite to celebrate all they are thankful for, over a traditional home-cooked meal.  A turkey with all the trimmings. Stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and don’t forget the pumpkin pie! Recipes passed down from generations fill the table, but in a day and age where, due to a multitude of reasons, traditions are becoming less traditional, more modern and ever-changing; cooking a traditional Thanksgiving meal may not be an option for some.

Jessica lives in rural Bennington and is blessed to be ‘wifey’ to her husband and ‘momma’ to her 4 great kiddos! After working nearly a decade as a nurse she has moved into her current role as a SAHM and is rocking it like a boss! Her daily grind includes, but is not limited to playing chauffer, housekeeper, chef and personal assistant. Between chicken chores, school board meetings, and keeping a plethora of kids activities strait, Jessica always maintains that she is never too busy to stop and play freeze dance with the kids. When she is able to escape from toddler diapers and preteen drama, she enjoys baking, crafting and locking herself in the bathroom for a moment of silence. Her daily mantra, “the days are long but the years are short” is key in maintaining her sanity and helping her keep calm amidst the chaos!

  1. Please take Wheatfields off of your “open on Thanksgiving” list. Our restaurant will not be open for dining. Year after year people publish that we are open for dining without checking their facts and we have customers come in and get upset with us. Please remove us from the list. We are not going to be open for dining this year or any other year for that matter. Please and thank you.

    • Our writer apologizes. She researched and called places, and this must have been a misunderstanding with her records. Again, she apologizes and I’m so sorry as well. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. –Tessa
