Is five years long enough to call this hidden gem in the middle of the USA my home? There is a comfort that the simplicities of the Midwest provide for this transplant mom from Draper, Utah. Access to so many diverse and affordable restaurants has made it one of my favorite BIG little cities. Most destinations are accessible within a 20-minute drive. This creates an incredible atmosphere to take my family to sushi at Kona, experience a play at the Orpheum, or listen to a concert in the park.
Mom
Being a mom to a five-year-old princess, 2 adult boys, and 3 adult daughters has definitely stretched my arms reach greater than I thought possible. I love having that human touch when they are infants, fulfilling their basic needs through the next 10 years, and developing a friendship with them into their adult years. My biggest challenge is balancing the parenting of a young child with the desires of grandparenting. I also have 6 grandchildren and it is a slippery slope to toggle between the dynamics of both roles.
Blog
Sharing my perspective of parenting simultaneously through overlapping generations is my primary goal. I hope to shed some ideas that will bridge the communication between mothers, daughters, and granddaughters. I continue to lean on my better half and while gaining inspiration from friends and family. They all help me grow in this never-ending career of motherhood.
