Omaha Moms Blog:: Introducing Leslie

Omaha

Hi there, I am Leslie! I have lived in the Omaha area for over two decades. Omaha is a great place to live for many reasons! I live on the outskirts of Omaha, so I get the small town feel with quick access to the busier part of the city. Living in Omaha have given me an appreciation for vacations that include mountains and beaches, but nothing could replace the friendly, loving atmosphere that Omaha provides. Omaha is a great place to be a mom, because it is rich in resources that are family-oriented and women-oriented. Anyone from any background can fit in here and find a support group that fits their needs as a mom.

I am mom to an almost three year old named Carmenella (Carmen for short). She is my mini-me especially in terms of personality. I don’t know who has more sass—her or me! I love everything about being a mom. I did not realize my biggest goal in life was to be called mom until I had my daughter. One of the aspects I love most about being a mom is being able to show Carmen how to be a strong, intelligent, independent woman. The most challenging aspect of motherhood is feeling the need to do everything for everyone all the time. It is hard to turn “mom mode” off.

Blog

I am so excited to be a contributor to Omaha Moms Blog! It is great that Omaha has a resource like Omaha Moms Blog because motherhood is wonderful, challenging, and sometimes isolating. I look forward to sharing what motherhood looks like to me as a full-time working mom who is constantly pursuing new goals and taking on new projects. I am a pharmacist and lactation counselor, and I look forward to bringing those perspectives to my posts.

Hi, I'm Leslie! A 30-something year old wife, mom, pharmacist, and lactation counselor. I'm married to a wonderful man named Don, have a wild toddler named Carmenella, and have two energetic Jack Russells named Bob and Daisy. I love to hang out with my family and knit in my free time. Oh, and coffee. I love to drink coffee.
