Omaha Moms Blog :: Introducing Bridget

Omaha

I was born and raised in Omaha. I attended Mary Our Queen for grade school and Skutt for high school. I ventured west for college and attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I earned my degree in middle school and high school Language Arts. After my husband and I were married, we lived in Omaha for four years before moving to Blair. What I love about Omaha and the surrounding areas is that it really is a “Big-Small Town”. It seems as though everybody knows everybody and there is so much to do. We love going to the zoo (my son has the whole thing memorized!), attending Storm Chasers baseball games, and hitting up our favorite ice cream shops!

Moms

I am a mom to three children; Henry who will be in Kindergarten in August, Claire who will be attending special education preschool in the fall, and Amelia who will be turning one in June! While our hands are definitely full, so are our hearts. They keep me busy, test my sanity, and also fill me with so much joy. I love experiencing life through their eyes: enjoying the magic of fireflies in the summer, the excitement of trying something new, and the love of a soggy graham cracker kiss.

Blog

When I decided to resign from teaching in May of 2017, I knew I would miss my co-workers, students, and work community, but I didn’t realize how much I would miss writing. Needing a creative outlet and a way to process life, I started my own blog in February 2018 to document our life as a family and our journey with raising a child with special needs. After a nudge from a good friend, I decided to submit a piece to Omaha Moms Blog. Luckily for me, they liked what I wrote and offered me the opportunity to join their team of contributors! I hope my writing can be helpful, meaningful, and relatable.
